Busan-Day 5 (The Bamboo Forest and The Ocean)

June 10th, 2014 (Tuesday)

My grandmother wanted to see the bamboo forest next to the Taehwagang (Taehwa River). We decided to go to Ulsan (a town about 30 minutes away from Busan). On the way, we saw an outlet that we would go on the way back to Busan. When we got to the forest, I was amazed! People say that one of the reasons why pandas are on the endangered species list is because of habitat destruction. After I saw the entire forest from the outside, I didn't believe it! There was so much bamboo! We went inside, and it was beautiful and tranquil. The canopy filtered out the sunlight so that it wasn't dark and it was very refreshing. The air was very clean. If you don't live in the city, you might not understand. After being in Seoul, this air was heaven! It was better than breathing in Kansas (probably because of the cows, but there is a lot of wildlife, especially wheat and grass)! We rented bikes and rode along the outside of the forest. After, lunch, we drove back home quickly because this is our last day in Busan. We will be leaving tomorrow. We spent more time at the beach and looked at the Haeundae Sand Festival. We competed in the festival in 2012. I took a some time to sear the image of the Haeundae Beach, knowing that this could be my last time here because I might not come to Korea for a while.
